Chocolate milk brown should be in my cup, not on my wall!

This.  This color is the reason everything is getting a new coat of white paint.

I am a woman on a mission, 86 all the chocolate milk brown in this house!!
Once. And. For. All!

The chocolate milk brown is driving me crazy!! I mean like BONKERS! .Bonkers.  It's like it's dirty and faded by the sun at the same time.  I mean I am all about color, I love colors!! Brown is one of my favorite colors, but geez--this is just too much.

Sneak Peek!!

I am so excited!!  The husband and I designed our new little project over 6months ago, but the husband seemed to push it down on the priority list of things to built.  BUT, today I came home to a newly build frame.  We drug it into the house (since outside is an awesome 110*)  and cussed and discussed some tweaks to it, so I have to wait a little bit longer before I can attack with my staple gun and perfect fabric.

Oh! and by the way: how perfect is this fabric?  I found it on sale for 30% off and just feel in love.  It's fun whimsical, and girly, and ties in all the colors of the living-room, and best of all when I see it, my mind goes to some beautiful Island where the hardest decision to make is, "pool or beach?"

Our bedroom--Finally!

The bench I reupholstered lives in the corner next to the black fan..

No ugly nasty gold/white fan.  She works and lives in the garage now.

I hung the drapes to the ceiling and made them so they graze the top of the floor.  This gives the room height and elegance.

When I made the curtains, my camera was no longer with us, but I made them similar to how I made the laundry room curtains.

The rocking chair I reupholstered sits in the corner on the husbands side.

I still can't decide what I want to put on the sides of my vanity table.

The husband and I made the headboard

The headboard sits 3inches from the wall, to allow the curtains to hang down straight and smooth. (The husband used the stupid foam head-holder they used for my surgery-ever the stodgy man)

More shelves will be hung on the other side of the dresser.

The big giant empty space on the wall will house 3 shelves to display my photos and art work.

purchased at the Mainstreet Arts festival

The bed spread was my original inspiration for the room.  The pillow sham was hung on the wall for months.

Sneak peek! another bedroom teaser!

The walls are painted
The rocking chair is complete

The curtains are sewn

The swags are hung

Pictures are on the walls

The only thing left to-do in our swank & grand bedroom is to create the shelves and purchase, paint and put up the crown molding.

But I may post the AFTER pictures before we get the crown molding up, simply b/c I am a bit impatient!

Why did it take me so long to do this: Laundry room

Okay, so I did my laundry room last summer, BUT....I only painted 3 out of the 4 walls. Over, the past year it really bugged me, but I never had the energy to paint it. So over the summer-I pushed out the washer and dryer and went to town! I really really love how it looks now!

Before...how it looked orginally!

After!

What do you think? Also, our bedroom transformation is almost complete! I am so excited...but I will reveal it when it is completely finished!

A year in Review- The Kitchen!

The kitchen...*sigh* was so painful to paint. It took most of all summer-and 2gallons of kiltz to 86 that barn red paint!

If you can't tell, the Plate rack, is painted the same sage green that the book case is painted. I am going to paint a deco-art design over the top. We have not finished the kitchen all the way. Chad is currently painted a new cool blue on the oven door, and we need to finish painting the ceiling corn-starch white.
We ran out of house decorating during the summer!

A year in Review- The livingroom!

Remeber this? Big over sized entertainment center? Brown covered walls that made you want to crawl up and cry?

AFTER!!

I am still on the prowl for a cute little settee for that corner! And I still need to get more color, and pictures on the walls, but you get the basic point!

A year in Review- THE DEN!!

the bookshelf!
Each shelf was sanded, painted, sanded, re-painted, and sanded again. Using a dark gold, green, and light gold. Then I took a watered down green and went over it one last time!

A closer look: you can see some of the orginal color, along with the many layers of colors. I get tons of compliments on, "how awesome all the years of wear and tear looks on that bookshelf!" They are all amazed that I painted it that way!

The walls: the Den is MY space! I keep my fabrics, sewing machine and wonderful, wonderful books! So I wanted a room that when you walked into, you felt small, closed in, and wrapped in a sea of warmth. This might seem claustrophobic to most, but as you see throughout our house. The rest of the colors are cool blues-and gives the feeling of calm-cool-collected and free. So I really wanted to have a room that juxtaposed the rest of the house!
Again, creating this process was long! I used a wet rag technique and painted walls and ceiling!

This room is really the HUB of decorating our entire house. I knew exactly the feeling I wanted in this room, by picking golds, I instantly knew that blues, and greens go nicely. Think weathered copper. ...which makes emerald greens and light greens and cool blues! I figured by having 3 colors...and playing off of them with accent colors..I can not go wrong!
for example: if 1 room is blue, I will use golds and greens to accent.
if another room is green I will use golds and blues....etc

We are pleasantly pleased with our choice!

Within the next couple of years we are gonna install mocha colored floors!!!
